Day 23 | Spiritual Growth Process

40 Days with God.TaylorCares

2 Peter 1:5-11

As mentioned previously, faith is the starting point of the Christian’s life, for it by faith that we are called. We’re cleansed of our sins and our sinful nature. As God’s chosen we are made partakers of Christ’s divine nature.

In these verses, Peter is reminding us of the virtues we should seek to cultivate and demonstrate in order that we may continue to grow spiritually. We can’t simply rest on the knowledge of what’s been done for us and in us.

Faith without works is dead. We must employ every effort to add to our faith; goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness affection and love.

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:8(NIV)

Not only do we have to work to attain these qualities, we must strive continually to increase in them in order to be effective, productive Christians.

Spiritual growth begins in faith, but has no ending. It is a continual lifelong process.

Be Blessed!

  1. Yes, we have to keep nurturing our spiritual growth in order to remain steadfast in our faith. We will be tested a lot of times, but we must keep on believing.
